American Services, Inc. has grown from an entrepreneurial start-up in 1975 to become one of the largest Southeastern-based multi-faceted service firms with over 5,000 personnel in security, staffing and janitorial. The company currently provides security, staffing and janitorial services for manufacturing, headquarters, healthcare, and commercial clients in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia. Much of this growth has come at the request of existing clients to serve as a regional contractor.
Henry Harrison founded American Security in 1975 after retiring from the South Carolina Highway Patrol. He was named State Trooper of the Year in 1967. Since founding American Services, Harrison has been actively involved in working on behalf of the law enforcement community, serves on several local board of directors and is a supporter of numerous charitable organizations.

One of the best Company's I've ever worked for! Staff is very professional and friendly. Most have been here for years, and I can see why. If your looking for a reliable trusted employer, look no further!

Security was unknowledgeable about what items could be used as proof of identity. They assumed that a "business" card with a picture on it was sufficient proof to confirm the identification of a real estate broker. But, a driver license with the letter of certification from the South Carolina Real Estate Commissioner along with a photo driver license was not.

When I asked "if I go to Staples and had one printed up would it suffice". They said yes. On my way to Staples to have a photo put on a business card with a title that says I am a Broker. Maybe I'll put the Duchess of England. I am not sure that the residents of the Cliffs communities would agree with Savannah and Adrienne (the gatekeepers)

Judy Hodges is fantastic! She is professional, friendly, and very personable. She made me feel comfortable and valuable. The process from my initial interview to signing my new hire paperwork was seamless and fast. She is the best, and I am blessed to have had her guide me.

Really disappointed with lack of credible physical security knowledge of many of their officers and total lack of professionalism. I have witnessed multiple times officers allowing unauthorized people into gated community with a simple "wave through!" Just received a letter from HOA Board to "treat these officers as law enforcement officers" and having graduated from the academy and worked certified law enforcement, I see this as a huge liability and mistake. HOA is truly clueless and picking American Security appears another costly misstep.

I couldn't reply back for some reason but that is exactly what me & lily discussed I did let her know of an issue and was told to continue working nothing was really handled everything I stated was actually facts and have messages to prove that one thing I will not be called is a liar saying there is "miscommunication" isn't accurate the only reason I was let go was because my son got sick and they said I was let go but all the other issues I've stated in my previous statement is in fact accurate

My boyfriend began working for American security in March of 2018 in Greenville, SC. When he interviewed, he informed them that he would rather work 2nd shift than the 3rd. Well, they put him in with 3rd shift on the weekends and at the location he was at, that's a 12 hour shift on the weekends. They always called him when he was at home, trying to sleep for the next shift, but they would call for these last minute meetings that he would have to go to.

On a few occasions he had to go to the meetings and work his 12 hour shift after.this meant he worked for 19 hours straight. His uniform was way too big and every time he contacted someone to get a different one, it never went through so he wore baggy clothes to work because someone couldn't do their job. They're constantly short staffed and always called him to fill in, even though he was on a 3rd shift schedule.

Every time payday rolled around, they shorted him hours and told him they'd add them onto the next paycheck and half the time they never did and he would go months without the correct amount. Not to mention how unprofessional their staff is, during the summer after he began working there, his boss came onto the site during his 3rd shift, completely intoxicated and kissed him.

They never informed him of when contracts were finished at different sites so when they were up he was always surprised. And the whole reason I'm writing this terrible review, yes, this is a terrible company to work for, is because a month and a half ago he informed his superiors that he was in search of a different job, he put in his two weeks 3 weeks ago and yesterday around 2 PM they call him telling him he has to work this weekend. I am furious with the unprofessional way this company treats their employees. And if he won't leave a bad review, then I will.

This was just my experience with this employer not saying everyone will go through what I did but I was contracted to work for GHS through american services I was told this was mainly a mon-friday job with every other sat I was also told that the hours are well the shift I was working was from 7am until 3 pm Now with that being said I went for training I showed up every morning on time! and had to direct myself when you start your position be prepared to be lost and having to figure out what your doing during the orientation the nursing supervisor forgot to go over the safety sweep checklist with me and got mad at me because it wasnt done so if that was part of the orientation how was that my fault? that is the employers responsibility!

Second how does a supervisor call you (late hours) and based an opinion off of what one individual thought and the same individual was told to me by the supervisor that she was "rough around the edges" That individual thought i was too nervous! If my supervisor felt that i was nervous (by the way this is my second day training) that he should've contacted me first and not base his opinion off someone he knows is a problem to begin with unprofessional the same supervisor scheduled me for two sat! when your only suppose to work one! and dont count on getting off on your scheduled time you have to wait on someone to relieve you!

I wished that was told to me prior as a mom of two for me was an inconvenience I contacted Lilly who did my interview with american services and told her my experience I was told to still continue working! I will not recommend this company at first it seemed like it would be a great company to work for but overall my experience was very unsatisfying!

The current owner is horrible, he expects 110% but gives less than 10 himself. Everyone I talked to had problems with him, from general employees to the people he made contracts with.
