Services
Critical Intervention Services (CIS) is a Tampa-based expert services firm with 30-years of experience assisting organizations in managing complex risk situations. Our diverse clientele include corporations, international government organizations, property management groups, energy companies, schools, hospitals, hotel chains, financial institutions, community organizations, and more.
One of the most noteworthy facts about our history is the very first one-CIS was founded by dedicated practitioners. In its earliest days, CIS was comprised of only a handful of protection specialists, all driven by a common sense of commitment and vision. And over the following decades, various opportunities arouse to challenge our capabilities and develop new solutions to the problems faced by our clients. Following is an overview of our history and some of the unique events defining our reputation as a company.
KC is an expert on community-based public safety, crime prevention, security officer operations, and managing risks of predatory aggression (e.g., workplace violence, stalking, etc.). KC is the lead architect of our community-based security and public safety programs and is co-author of two criminal justice textbooks.
Craig is our Vice President of Special Projects and a world-recognized expert on managing risks of mass homicide. During his tenure with CIS, Craig served as the architect of many of the company's unique risk management programs including the Guardian SafeSchool Program, Anti-Terrorism Officer Division, and Guardian SafeWorkplace Program.

Worked for the company for around a year, loved the company, the management and their communication. Pay is better than most security companies but security doesn't pay well overall. Great place to start or stick with for a while.

The hiring process was very straight foward. The two associates in charge when I arrived were very nice and helpful. Company you can tell are looking for individuals with honor and drive to work in the community. If your looking for job instead of a career then CIS isnt for your. Visit the office and ask for Keyla, she would gladly help you out.

Worked for CIS for over 2 years. First employment opportunity I was offered after finishing my active duty service in the US Army. Hiring process was easy and they assisted with every step of the way. Management, company leadership was amazing. Great communication and they really welcome you to the CIS family and the community. My direct supervisor (Melody) was very supportive of my progress through the ranks in the Operations Center.

Have a strong work ethic, communicate and learn everything you can about the SOP, company and their history. If you do that as a new Officer, dispatcher etc. you will succeed in the company. Last I'd like to tell a personal story while working for CIS. I'm a service connected disabled veteran and during my employment the CEO, all management stood by and helped me through a personal tragedy.

I lost my K-9 PTSD support animal due to a horrible accident. Not only did they give me time off and help me through it, they also raised and donated money to help me actually get another dog in under month. Not many companies do that for their employees. To this day it touches my heart, and I will always be thankful for that. Highly recommend them for any level of employment.

I was an employee. This company is a joke. They advertise that they go in and set the rules for officer safety and to establish order. There biggest client is in Lake Mary and if they dont like something, then they run over CIS. Its pathetic. They dont want security officer, they want armed customer service agents. I was literally let go after 6 weeks for enforcing the rules of the site.

I was literally told not to write parking violations, not to enforce no smoking on property and not to challenge anyone even at night when the building is locked and secured. And was then told multiple times that all that location wanted was a cute uniform and customer service people. Other employees threaten to assault you, you report it 3 different times to all supervisors on duty and that person can keep their job.

This is one of the worst companies. Old uniforms, rusty weapons. Delta 6 is a rude short idiot that believes he's god to enforcement. You only get some where if they like you. They send you to the most high crime areas without radio frequency. There's no back up from supervision cause they are to lazzy. All think they are cops, so sad! Run don't walk from CIS.

I used to work for them very briefly a little while ago and now I am reapplying for this company. This is one of the best most professional security companies I've ever worked for. I am currently as I type awaiting a call back in order to be rehired. If anyone says anything negative about this company let the only thing be said that not just anyone can work for this company. this company has high standards and that is probably what deters some people. I'm sorry there are a few of you that I've had a bad experience but I think this is one of the best security companies out there C.I.S is amazing.

CIS is a very weird place. They encourage filling out applications online but when you fill them out they automatically deny them and tell you to come in to fill one out and even then they will only call you if they like what they see. From what I've heard, they hire mostly former cops and it shows. I've worked for a similar company in Memphis where the owner fired many of his security officers and replaced them with his police officer buddies.

I have personally met a man at CIS's Orlando office that is very strict and walks around like a police officer. I haven't worked for a security company yet run by a professional crew. Haven't worked for CIS but my experience so far with them will luckily keep me away.

You don't want to work for this company. Half of the officers who make it anywhere are ex cops who treat people like animals. If you have a north pointing moral compass don't work here. They'll just fire you.

If you enjoy being lied to, treated like your dirt and working 6-7 days a week this place is for you! Orientation times were incorrect and I was unknowingly there until 9 pm, I then found out I was being paid MINIMUM WAGE. Kayla has NO idea what she is doing and I still have yet to get all of my uniform and equipment. Then was treated poorly by my FTO for not having it.

They rush you, don't care about your life or sleep schedule they will NOT take the days off you need into consideration! When i say you are treated poorly REALLY you are. Be prepared to be yelled at, called names and made fun of. I would not even waste your time, seriously. They are so short staffed its one person per post in the worst parts of Orlando. but, hey! dont worry just call for back up. on the radio that doesn't work half the time!

Oh and you'll be paid minimum wage for FTO too! It is foot patrol so dont except a car anytime soon, a guy started with me and had no idea poor guy didn't even have a jacket in the 30 degree weather that night. I wasted more time, energy and money going there and back for minimum wage then Ill even get back on my first & last check. I had to go back 4 times before my start date because again, kayla forgot. THIS PLACE IS A JOKE. & when you quit they will threaten you so again, beware!

This company CIS tried to offer me a job patrolling the worst neighborhoods in Orlando for $11/hour armed. The employees in the orlando office were all rude and obnoxious making me not want to work for them at all.
