Called Ackerman to install extra equipment on my elderly parent's home. Explained that I live away and that I needed the equipment installed the week I was there for their safety. When I called I explained that I just needed an installation, not a sales pitch. However, they insisted that their process was to send a salesperson out first to schedule the install.

The salesperson, Mr. Demetrius Hall, called the next day instead of visiting. Made sure to tell me the price of the equipment and sounded as if he hoped the expense would put me off. When I said I needed to plan an install for the same week he told me he couldn't help me because he had helped the first house he went to that day. Let me repeat that. he couldn't help me because he helped the first house he went to that day.

I tried appealing to his humanity by saying that I was helping my parents and I live away and could only be there this week. Nothing budged him. I then called back to Ackerman. No one called back to help me. We are now going with ADT. They are installing next day and installing an entire system for LESS than Ackerman was installing two cameras. Because of this Ackerman lost a large sale and a loyal monthly customer of over 20 years.

At one time I praised Ackerman Security but not anymore. I tried from April 14 through April 20 to talk with someone about discontinuing service. Always received "They will be in contact with you in 24 to 48 hours". On April 25 I guess they decided to punish me by charging $50 instead of $25 because I had to sell my house an no longer required their service.

As of April 28, I guess my 48 hours are not up yet. I've read some of the reviews, so far I have mainly seen negative remarks about Ackerman. I didn't like ADT so I called Ackerman. Great service but don't ever try to cancel service. In their response they keep saying to everyone please contact us at their 800 number. I called no answer or the recording if I optioned not to hold and they would contact me in 24 to 48 hrs.

So how can we contact you if you never answer the phone. If you email customer service, they tell you to call the number that you have been calling and no one answered. I stopped their automatic withdrawal. I bet they contact me soon. As far as I'm concerned, they broke the contract. No one should have to have this kind of result in cancelling service! To Be Continued. You have my phone and email on file. Oh, I'm sorry that would require effort on your part.

I TRIED to cancel this service, they put me on hold for 2 hours, then when they finally answered, I was supposed to get an email with form to send in. You can't cancel over the phone because they want to bill you as long as possible. They never sent me the email. So I blocked their charges on my credit card. Then somehow they restored billing to that card AGAIN. PLEASE USE A MORE PROFESSIONAL SERVICE THAT DOESN'T TRY TO KEEP YOU HOSTAGE!

I spoke with Dee in the loyalty department, she was amazing and has awesome customer service skills and knowledge. I started the conversation very very upset about my service and monthly bill. My intention was to cancel my service. I have not been happy with my service. I spoke with Ms. Dee on today and she took care of all my concerns and she was able to lower my monthly payment.

I am very grateful to Ms. Dee for her commitment to serving my issues and making things right by me. Thank you Ms. Dee for your amazing customer service skills and willingness to make things right to the best of your ability.

I had a bad experience with Ackerman. However, I accepted them sending me a tech for the second time and I am so glad they did. Ike was the tech and he was amazing. He actually listened to what I had to say and resolved the issue. Ike made the difference for me. I have more peace of mind with the changes he helped me implement. However, just to be clear the salesman Ben is not someone I would do business with again. Once he gets your money he is out. He says call the office.

My equipment stopped working almost right away. They charge $90 to come to look at the equipment. I did not want to spend the money, but I knew I couldn't get out of the one-year contract so I kept paying them. I started calling to cancel in the summer and wasn't able to reach someone helpful until early October. They were very understanding and assuring.

They told me they canceled my account. They did not tell me that they were going to email a form that I would need to print out, fill out, and physically send to them through the mail. I never got the email. They kept charging me for a service that I wasn't getting - a service that I had canceled. I kept calling and they would say they would call me back in 24-48 hours, but they never would.

This pushed the process for weeks. During that time I learned that they had a typo in my email. I still had to continue calling back to get the "right person" on the phone. Finally, on January 14, I spoke with someone who corrected my email and sent me the form. She also said that she canceled my automatic payments, so I would no longer be billed.

When I inquired about a refund, I was told that my account had to be canceled first. The fact that you have to continually call, be emailed, print out a form, and mail it when this could easily be done over the phone or email is predatory. I sent in the form. On January 19, I was billed again (even though I was told the payments were off). It has been over a week since I sent the form in and I haven't received any confirmation from them.

I do not recommend that any one uses their service. It is impossible to cancel. The fact that I could never get them on the phone is not a great quality for any company, especially a security company. I am asking for a refund for the past couple of months, but it makes me angry that I have had to spend so much time just attempting to cancel.

They have been trying to charge me for months that I've already paid for and this is the second time and it's unprofessional. I've even had to dispute the payment I made to them because they "never got it" but the minute I disputed it "oh it's magically been found". Thank god I used a credit card and it my debit card or I mightve been out of luck.

They literally told me I paid some random company not associated with them, but the whole time it was them. I've asked to change the call notification number because the number I had on file i changed that number and they never updated it. the first year I had this company the alarm system was never even online so if my alarm would go off, they were never notified in their systems of a potential break in.

I literally could've been robbed and nobody would've ever known. Do you think I got reimbursed for that? No. Then they had my cameras lost in the cloud for weeks so they were offline. It's always an issue. ALWAYS! Find another company. This company is a nightmare!

I contracted with Ackerman Security on October 13, 2021, when a representative Allen came out and sold me a system to connect to sensors from my pre-existing system. He stated that I would be able to use my existing motion sensors and door sensors with the Ackerman system. Amongst the purchases that were made, I requested a new sensor for a new perimeter door and a simple keypad for the main level.

When the technician arrived the next two weeks, he stated that he didn't have the keypad that I requested because it was discontinued. He also stated that the salesperson should have contacted me regarding the matter, which he didn't. The technician stated that my existing motion sensors were not included in the setup, which Allen promised they would.

The technician offered to sell me a key fob to replace the keypad. When I refused because the key fob didn't have a way of inputting a code, he offered to replace the motion sensors for the same price as the keypad and "give" me the key fob. I reluctantly agreed. During the installation, the technician removed part of my existing door sensors, which caused the door and wall paint to come off.

He also left just a screw and bolt on one to serve as the magnet for that door. I attempted to contact salesperson, but he never returned my calls. The technician returned on Tuesday, November 2nd to put up the motion sensors. After he left, the system began to completely malfunction. The doors constantly register as open even though they are not.

The perimeter door with the new sensor continues to read Supervision Fail and beep continuously whenever the system is off. Even when the system is on, I can walk out the door without the alarm going off and Ackerman being notified. The system periodically states that the Z View is missing. The "Armed Away" and "Night, " which should be connected to the motion sensors within the house, do not work at all. Needless to say, Ackerman system has violated my family security.
