With Spectrum's experience in all phases of the construction cycle, from "out of the ground" new construction, to flash track retrofits and maintenance work, we bring a trained and certified team to install and service the system you want or have. We address your individual requirements and are dedicated to assisting you through every phase of your project; from assessing and evaluating your needs to ongoing service after project completion. SpectrumIT is proud to have been awarded the Massachusetts state contracts for FAC64 and ITC54.

Spectrum Integrated Technologies (SpectrumIT) is the low-voltage division of J & M Brown Company Inc. and is located in the same building. Based in Jamaica Plain, we are a 15 minute drive to downtown Boston and have easy access to anywhere along the 95 corridor. We service businesses, industrial sites and various properties in the metro Boston area as well as southern New Hampshire and Rhode Island. Our coverage also includes municipalities and public institutions throughout the state of Massachusetts.

SpectrumIT provides structured cabling installation solutions for voice and data by using Cat 5e, Cat 6, Cat 6a, and Fiber Optic cable. Most businesses use a combination of ethernet and fiber optic cables. Ethernet cables are made of copper and transmit electrical signals, while Fiber Optics are made from glass and transmit light signals. These characteristics allow newer Ethernet cabling to run faster than Fiber Optic, however, Fiber Optic cables can transmit voice/data over much longer distances.

Access control is a security feature that allows a company to control who has access to certain areas within a building or office space. It gives an organization control and monitors the flow of people into and out of a space. SpectrumIT offers premium access control solutions from a mix of manufacturers to ensure that we have the best options for your specific security requirements. We install electronic keypads that secure a single door to large networked systems for use in multiple buildings.

Buildings are full of people who expect safe working environments. This means that buildings must provide protection and safety on a regular basis and in the event of an emergency. Ease of communication and visitor control play an important role in your security strategy and this is where Intercoms come into play. Intercoms can be used for tenant-specific use, security desks and guard stations, entire buildings or across multiple facilities. Audio/Video intercom systems provide a screening process that allows you to grant or restrict access after you verify who is there.
