After many years, I had to terminate my relationship with The Alarm Co, unfortunately. Truth be told, I was unhappy with their service for many years prior--in my opinion, their fees are high compared to other companies (like ADT, for example), they do not take into account the size of your home for monitoring purposes (I live in an apartment that is under 1,000 sq feet with 5 security points--they charge the same monthly rate to me as my parents, who have a 3,400 sq ft home with several more security points), their billing seems to be somewhat disorganized (would receive bills several days after they were due, forgot to bill me the would send a late notice, you get the picture.).

I had tried to switch companies at one point, only to be talked out of it by their staff. That said, the culmination of my unhappiness with this company came to a head when they called me to tell me that they needed to update my alarm system because it has stopped communicating properly. They called me after the system stopped working, did not give notice of the issue (when I spoke to them, they said they were reaching out to those affected before the system stopped communicating), and told that I would have to pay $100 (on top of the $35 I paid monthly for the monitoring of my system) in order to get the system back on track. Obviously, I was unhappy about this and said I would call them back as this was the week before my wedding. Well, Ken from their company called me back the day before my wedding to "follow up" and, honestly, the rudeness and condescending attitude I experienced, in addition to the lack of regard for the fact that I was getting married the next day, very much upset me.

He said the owner would call me back to discuss the $100 fee, and of course, the owner never called; I did, however, receive an email the following week from their disorganized billing person. That said, I am no longer a customer of this company and have switched to ADT, where I am much happier! I suggest customers try that company instead.

We were in need of an upgrade on our alarm system. The previous installer never returned our phone calls or emails. After multiple frustrations, we searched for a company to assist us. Larry at the Alarm Company immediately returned our phone call. We scheduled an appointment and two excellent technicians arrived and within one hour our entire system was updated and functioning perfectly. They explained the operating updates and testing everything. I would recommend them to anyone. They are very professional, courteous, and stand by their work.

Right now Mike is here - I can not BELIEVE how amazing these guys are. Kenny led my initial install almost 4 years ago and I called in for a problem. Mike rushed over and helped debug an issue that was NOT a result of their service. SERIOUS.just WOW.

Amazing service and responses. Had an old system replaced by Larry. The price was right. They let us practice for several days before making us live. They let me ask question after question and every time I called with a new scenario, they had the answer. We had a sensor go bad and they were out that afternoon to replace it and check the system. Always friendly and willing to take the time to make sure everything is right.

I would give 6 stars if I could. Larry Walker, Owner, takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service. There is NO COMPARISON to big outfits like Bay Alarm. The Alarm Company uses the latest technology, has impeccable service, and is always available to answer questions. Mike showed up as scheduled and was quite analytical and thorough in determining the fault in our alarm circuit. He was quite personable and performed the work in a minimal amount of time. As I had used another alarm service in the past, this was by far the best service that I ever had. Thank you Mike and The Alarm Company.you are the best!

So glad we hired them! They were recommended by our contractor and are a small business with excellent customer care and attention. They have always been available when we needed them, unfortunately that includes an emergency. Mike is also a First Responder so is well versed in strategy in establishing your system, maintaining it, and ensuring its effectively serving the purpose.

Their pricing is fair and your family's security is certainly one of the most important investments you can make. We have worked with 2 other alarm companies (ADT/nothing but issues, and Bay Alarm/just ok) so comparatively, I have to say that The Alarm Company is a true stand out. Thank you Mike and Larry for doing such great work. I just gave your name out to two of my neighbors and highly recommend. We appreciate you being there for us!

My alarm system was very old and it needed to be updated. I contacted Chris and he scheduled an appointment a couple of days later. We walked through my house and I explained all of my concerns. He layed out a plan for all the upgrades and gave me a price. The price was very fair and they started a week later. The system was completed within 2 days.

They did an excellent job and didn't leave until everything was the way they wanted it. They are professional, knowledgeable, honest, and hard workers. I am a very happy customer. I highly recommend The Alarm Company

Fantastic Service - Ontime - On Budget I researched installing my own AlarmNet system by going on amazon and investigating the prices of equipment, etc. The quote that Larry's Team at the Alarm Company gave me was very competitive. At the end of the day having someone else do the installation was worth my time for the price they are charging. Larry's team showed up on time, and we discussed placement of various aspects of the system.

They gave great recommendations and even later on when I asked them to move one of the components (which required going back into the attic) they did so without complaint. In the end, the total installation was done by noon (started at 9) and my wife and I could not be happier.

I had Chris out to have estimates done for both my office and home on the same day. We met at my office and then followed me home and looked at my home right after. I had my detailed estimates a few hours later. I made my decision pretty soon after that. Chris had wanted to set up the installations on the same day. While this would certainly have been easier for them, it was raining out and I knew my wife would be anxious with them coming in and out during the rain.

They were very understanding and came out for my home at the first sign of clear weather. On both installs, they were quick, professional, knowledgeable, polite, and most importantly to my wife, VERY clean. They also took the time to explain every little thing about the system to us both. I HIGHLY recommend these guys! In fact, I refer them to my own clients all of the time now.

I used The Alarm Company on my house in Los Gatos for many years. Larry and his staff were always responsive and did a great job, as the house was very large. Bought a new house in Carmel. Decided to use Comcast for the alarm, as they had a package deal with cable, etc. and The Alarm Company is located in Campbell. What a mistake! There was nothing but problems with the installation.

They sub'd out the alarm installation to contractors. I had nothing but issues and the alarm didn't work. I called Larry and asked if he could come install a new alarm system at the house. Ken came to the house with another employees and they installed the alarm and I haven't had any issues ever since. Wish I would have done this from the start! Highly recommend The Alarm Company.

Would never use Comcast for an alarm, as their customer service is bad enough for their cable and phone service, why would I want to subject myself to more issues with Comcast?

Just had an alarm system installed. We chose The Alarm Co. on the enthusiastic recommendation of two of our neighbors. Ken and Chris were punctual and careful, as well as both being very obliging. They explained the operation of the system thoroughly, and even put up two signs for us on our outside gates. Showed us how to replace the batteries in the various sensors. Having suffered a break-in while we were home at night, we feel very relieved to have a great system to protect us.

For service and quality, The Alarm Co is top-notch. I must add that when Ken first came out to look at the house for a bid, there was absolutely no hard sell. We appreciate that as well.

On Saturday June 17, 2017, I was having coffee at Boulevard Coffee on Los Gatos Blvd when the alarm sounded at JJ Magoo's Pizza, next door. The front door was locked and I could see nobody inside. I called the number on the bell box: 408 358-1500, the number for The Alarm Company. After waiting on hold for a short time an operator answered. She told me that I've reached "the message center", and asked if I wanted to leave a message.

I explained that there might be a burglary in progress, and I was expecting her to take details and follow up. The operator just repeated (several times) that I've reached the message center and my only option was to leave a message. Based on this experience only, I would rate the service at The Alarm Company zero stars, if I could.

Security done right, but more importantly customer service done right! Response time was amazing and Larry sent us his "A+Team"--Chris and Mike--to help us with customizing and installing our alarm system. Overall, they did an impressive job--attention to details, professional, courteous, respectful, and treat our house like their own! Furthermore, Larry has all the right connections: from electrician to specialized screen makers.

What else can I say? Definitely highly recommended for anyone looking for an alarm system (for sure you will have an experience that exceeds all of your expectations--way better than all the competitors and those "cookie-cutter" companies out there!).

I broke off one my sensors. Before I had time to call, Chris emailed me and let me know there was a sensor malfunction. I emailed back and set up an appointment. He happened to be near by and came within 15 minutes and the problem is fixed. Very reasonable house call. Awesome service!

I have been extremely happy with this company. I underwent a major remodel a few years back, Larry and Mike were recommended by my contractor. They worked with me to see what type of system would be best for my home. Once the system was installed they went through all the basic functions. Over the years I have had a few questions.the calls go thru a call center and they have always responded quickly with a follow up call back to me. They are professional, courteous, and extremely knowledgable. I would highly recommend this company and their services.

We had Chris and his crew come out and do a pretty major install. Multiple cameras, full alarm.all the bells and whistles! I found them to be polite, courteous, NEAT, patient and very knowledgable! I really have no complaints. I would highly recommend them. One note, don't be put off by the call center that fields their calls. It's an excellent way for them to handle all their phone traffic however the verbiage of the call center should be changed so that people who call understand how it works.

For example, " Hi this is call center, we field calls for The Alarm Company.how can we help you?" That would be my only suggestion. Anyway, don't hesitate if you're in the market!

I wanted some high-quality security cameras to supplement the cheap Swann cameras I purchased when our house got broken into last year. After a useful on-site discussion, the work was done on time and with minimal fuss or mess. The cost was actually slightly less than the estimate, and the system does everything promised. When one of the cameras turned out to be quite noisy (apparently due to an internal fan), it was removed and replaced at no charge.

Now I have a high-quality IP-based recording system protecting the house. These folks are honest and competent, and I would not hesitate to recommend them to others in need of improved security systems for home or business.

We've been customers of The Alarm Company for 4 years now, and have purchased both a home alarm system and a CCTV system from them. Both installations were absolutely first-rate. Staff at this company is extremely responsive -- we've had a couple of sensors fail over the time we've had the system, and I think the longest we've waited for a repair technician was 20 minutes. The level of service here is nothing short of astonishing. Could not be more pleased with this company and recommend them highly.

I have been with this company since 2009. Our phone line had some issues, so LARRY called my husband and in a very RUDE tone said that we had cancelled our phone line and the alarm was not working because of it! I called comcast and fixed the issue (old modem). After getting our line working again, I emailed LARRY letting him know. He said we had to test the line, which we did. An employee called saying that the test did not work so he was going to transfer our call to LARRY so he can help us. LARRY gets on the phone and OMG! HE STARTS TO YELL AND INSULT US!

He said JUST FIX YOUR PHONE! WHAT DO YOU WANT NOW! I tried explaining to him that we didn't call him, that his employee transferred the call. AND YELLING AGAIN (and I am NOT exaggerating), JUST CANCEL THE SERVICE! WHY ARE YOU BOTHERING ME! WHY ARE YOU CALLING ME NOW! When I said, "you are being very rude" He said "I KNOW, AND I DON"T CARE! I have never been treated this way!

Not sure if he has mental problems or was drinking or what! But it was so unbelievable that my husband, my daughter and I (he was on speaker phone) just sat there and looked at each other.speechless!
