Over fifty years ago, Bruce Griffith retired after a long and distinguished career in North Carolina Highway Patrol. He realized that the Catawba Valley area needed a security and loss prevention service. Today, Griffith Security provides 98% of the private security needs in Catawba and surrounding counties. We are the region's largest privately held security company, employing over 250 full and part time employees. Our licensed, bonded, and insured security officers are the backbone of our business.

Bruce Griffith served in the United States Air Force and as an officer in North Carolina's Highway Patrol. When he retired, he founded Griffith's, Inc, which came to be known as Griffith Security. Our beginnings were small, first providing officers to perform fire watch and loss prevention services for Hickory's flourishing furniture and textile manufacturing companies.

Our guard service is the backbone of our operation. We offer both armed and unarmed, state-certified and licensed security officers that perform a multitude of duties. From simple fire watch and manning checkpoints to monitoring and employing complex access control, fire, and logistics systems, our officers are an integral part in any site safety and security plan. We offer both scheduled and on-call closing service, to stand by and ensure the safety of employees that exit facilities during late night hours.
